This specimen is in an area that was clear cut about 10 years ago. The branch in the foreground of this image is from the tree shown below.

The area is abundant with multiple genera of shrubs, vines and trees. The Gelsemium sempervirens (above) is from this area as well.

This specimen is in the same clear cut area as the one above. They are both in sight of the road

This plant is becoming scarce as a result of the extensive clear cutting of timber in some areas. The decline of Pedicularis canadensis can be decreased by limited collecting.
